Salam Baku

Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan situated on Caucasus region alongside of Caspian Sea as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and of the Caucasus region.

Baku is located 28 metres (92 ft) below sea level, which makes it the lowest lying national capital in the world and also the largest city in the world located below sea level.

Baku is situated on Absheron peninsula on an area of 2200 sq.km and the population is around 3 million people (2018).

Baku is a city full of contrasts of Western and Eastern cultures expressed on modern and historical architecture, traditional and international cuisine, national and worldwide popular activities.

The culture of Azerbaijan is multilateral, people visit Baku to discover ethnic music and folk art, taste traditional cuisine, participate in national holidays celebration as Novruz Bayram and international events, visit worldwide famous architecture symbols as Maiden Tower (ancient symbol of Baku), Flame Towers (modern symbol of Baku), Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center designed by Zaha Hadid, etc.

During last 7 years Baku hosted such worldwide famous events as Eurovision Song Contest, 1stEuropean Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, Formula 1 Grand Prix (since 2016) etc.
